- Leading initiative to promote decarbonization in factories and workplaces (SHIFT project, Ministry of the Environment)

This is a subsidy system aimed at promoting pioneering decarbonization efforts in factories and business establishments in order to contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050 and the achievement of reduction targets for fiscal 2030.

In the standard project, we support equipment upgrades that reduce CO2 emissions by 151 TP3T or more at each business site or by 301 TP3T or more in major systems (subsidy rate 1/3, subsidy limit: 100 million yen).

〇 Expected use cases

[Food manufacturing industry]

If you manufacture and sell commercial cut vegetables and fruits at your own factory, do you waste large amounts of cold/hot water used in the washing and steaming processes?

By installing a heat recovery system that uses this wastewater to recycle it for heating and cooling within the factory, it is possible to reduce the amount of energy consumed for air conditioning by up to 80%.

The introduction of heat recovery equipment is eligible for this subsidy and may be available.

* Recruitment period and project implementation period

The next recruitment period is scheduled for late March to early April 2025.

The results of the selection will be announced around June 2025, and the project implementation period is scheduled to run from the grant decision date to the end of January of the following year.
